SECTION/RULE §334.201 - Purpose, Applicability, and Deadlines

(a) Purpose. The purpose of this subchapter is to establish the criteria by which target concentrations are established for the cleanup of leaking storage tank site releases discovered and reported to the agency.(b) Applicability. The provisions of this subchapter are applicable to owners and operators of all underground storage tanks (USTs) and petroleum product aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) unless otherwise specified in Subchapters A and F of this chapter (relating to General Provisions and Aboveground Storage Tanks, respectively).(c) Deadlines. For sites where the release was reported to the agency on or before December 22, 1998, the deadlines detailed in §334.71(b) of this title (relating to Applicability and Deadlines) apply.
