(a) The judge may continue a hearing from time to time and from place to place. If the time and place for the hearing to reconvene are not announced at the hearing, a notice shall be mailed at a reasonable time to all parties and other persons who, in the opinion of the judge, may be affected by action taken as a result of the hearing.(b) Motions for continuance shall be in writing or stated on the record, and shall be sworn unless the facts alleged therein to show good cause are part of the record of the proceeding.(c) Upon joint motion of all parties, the judge may continue the hearing to allow the parties to use alternative dispute resolution procedures or to engage in and complete settlement negotiations.
