(a) If you request the department to provide copies or allow inspection of public information in the possession of the department, you may be required to pay the charges and meet other requirements specified by the Texas Attorney General.(b) The department may reduce or waive an applicable charge under subsection (a) of this section, in the discretion of the commissioner, if the cost of collecting the charge will exceed the amount of the charge or a public benefit will result from the reduction or waiver.
