SECTION/RULE §83.1001 - Purpose and Scope

(a) Purpose. The purpose of this subchapter is to provide for the regulation of credit access businesses as authorized by Texas Finance Code, Chapter 393.(b) Scope. This subchapter governs credit access businesses as defined by Texas Finance Code, §393.601(2) that obtain for a consumer or assist a consumer in obtaining an extension of consumer credit in the form of:(1) a deferred presentment transaction; or(2) a motor vehicle title loan.
